Watch: Mukesh Ambani, Amitabh Bachchan spotted at World Cup 2018 semifinals

Industrialist Mukesh Ambani and Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan were spotted in the stands during the World Cup 2018.

The duo were present in the St. Petersburg stadium for the first semi-final between France and Belgium.

Ambani was joined by wife Nita Ambani and younger son Anant Ambani, while Abhishek Bachchan watched the match with his father Amitabh.

The picture of Mukesh and Nita was shared on Instagram by the official account of Indian Super League. It was captioned: “Football Sports Development Limited Chairperson, Mrs. Nita Ambani and Mr. Mukesh Ambani watching the France v Belgium semi-final in Russia and hoping to see India in a future FIFA World Cup.”

FSD Ltd operates ISL in India.

Abhishek also shared a picture with Amitabh on his Instagram account.

Samuel Umtiti’s lone goal helped France beat Begium 1-0 as they reached the final of the tournamnet.

Didier Deschamps’ side will face Croatia in Moscow on Sunday as the French look to lift the trophy for the second time following their triumph on home soil in 1998.

In an enthralling, albeit highly tactical rather than incident-packed match, it was once again a set-piece that proved decisive with Umtiti’s near-post header from an Antoine Griezmann corner settling matters.

Having gained the lead, France showed the defensive nous to nullify the threat from Belgium’s Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne, closing out the game for a win that sent them to their second straight major tournament final, following their loss to Portugal in Euro 2016.

In the second semi-final, an extra-time goal from Mario Mandzukic gave Croatia a 2-1 win over England.

Ivan Perisic headed the ball into the area, the England defence hesitated and Mandzukic drove his finish past keeper Jordan Pickford with 11 minutes of extra time left to earn them a place in Sunday’s final against France.

England got off to a flying start when Kieran Trippier curled in a free kick after five minutes to put them ahead and they looked more dangerous throughout the first half.

Croatia took control after halftime and hit back when Perisic got in front of his marker to flick in a high cross from Sime Vrsaljko in the 68th minute.
