With monsoon setting in, one tends to crave for deep-fried and spicy snacks that you can pair a cup of hot ginger tea. Pakodas tastes best in rainy season and what can be a better choice than these Urad Dal Ke Pakode. In India, there are several variations of pakodas that you can find including Gobi Pakoda, Aloo Pakoda, Pyaaz Pakoda. This is an easy-to-make pakoda recipe which is prepared with urad dal (black lentil), onions, coriander leaves, sesame seeds, and a melange of spices. Serve hot with ketchup or chutney of your choice.
How to make Urad Dal Ke Pakode
To start with, soak black lentil overnight in water. Next morning, drain out the water and in a grinder, grind dal in order to make a smooth paste. To this paste, add chopped onions, coriander leaves, chilies,cumin powder, garam masala and salt.
Mix thoroughly. Make small balls using this mixture by applying a little water/oil on your palms. In a bowl full of sesame seeds, dip these balls and cover them completely with the seeds. Take a kadai, heat oil in it on medium flame and deep fry these balls. Transfer on a plate and serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
