White House adviser and US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump called Union minister Sushma Swaraj “charismatic”, following a meeting with the external affairs minister on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York earlier today.
After the meeting, Ivanka tweeted that the two had “a great discussion” on women’s entrepreneurship, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) and workforce development in the US and India.
The Indian embassy in the US described the meeting as “warm”.
Last month, PM Narendra Modi had tweeted that he looked forward to Ivanka’s presence at the GES as the leader of the US delegation. The summit, scheduled to be held from November 28-30 this year at Hyderabad, will be co-hosted by India and the US
The summit, he had said, “is a unique opportunity for bringing together entrepreneurs and start ups with global leaders.”
Swaraj, who arrived in New York on Monday, is scheduled to address the UNGA on September 23.
In fact, she has already met the foreign ministers of Bahrain, UAE, Denmark and Latvia.
