Around 10,376 registered Yuvak Mangal Dals and Mahila Mangal Dals took part in the training. These men and women will now provide training to the locals in 13 districts.Secretary, Disaster Management Amit Negi said that the training was aimed at making the locals self reliant.
“Community needs to be strengthened at the local level as in the event of any eventuality, they are the first ones that the affected persons look upon for assistance,” he said.
The Department of Disaster Management intends to strengthen the local communities by exposing them to workshops and providing training in which several government and non government organisations will take part.
