Kolkata Police cracks racket of country-made revolver being sold in West Bengal

The Kolkata Police has cracked a racket of country-made revolver being sold in West Bengal. This came to light following the arrest of one of the members from the gang from Tiljala area of Kolkata.

Based on a specific source of information, police officials on round reached near the Young Muslim Club area on Topsia Road in Kolkata and identified three persons who were actively involved in the supply chain. The gang is allegedly involved in trading of illegal firearms.

Out of them, two managed to escape from the spot even before the police could catch hold of them. The police is now trying to identify and arrest the members who are at large.

The police gathered more information about the revolver-selling racket in the area from 22-year-old Masrum Alam who was arrested from the spot. The police also seized a improvised single shooter firearm with one live ammunition for which the accused did not offer any satisfactory answer.
