The newly appointed Karnataka Congress president issued a show cause notice to former Assembly speaker KB Koliwad on Monday.
Koliwad had recently spoken to the media telling them that certain Congress MLAs are the reason behind Chief Minister Kumarswamy’s tears.
The notice letter issued by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) General Secretary VY Ghorpade, following the instructions of president Dinesh Gundu Rao stated, This statement has caused immense embarrassment to the Congress, which is a coalition partner in the government. This has also appeared in all newspapers on July 17. Expressing discontentment publicly through media is against the principles of the party.
Koliwad recently lost the elections and had earlier blamed Siddaramaiah as the reason behind his loss.
Koliwad has been given seven days time to reply on his anti-party statements.
Another similar notice has also been issued to KN Rajanna, a former Congress MLA. Rajanna earlier had criticised the working style of the coalition government.
