China is seeing the start of Vivo X21 Night Purple version sale while India has woken up to the launch of JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer today.
The Jio offer which was scheduled to go live on July 21 has been advanced by a day to launch today i.e. July 20. The sale of the JioPhone at Rs 501 begins from 5:01 PM. You can see what Jio has done here with the launch timing. It is exact 5:01 PM because it matches the Rs 501 price tag that comes with the JioPhone under the offer.
Coming to what the JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offers. The offer is an ideal deal for those who are looking to buy a new but cheap feature phone. The feature phone market is flooded with options in India but it wouldn’t be wrong to say that JioPhone stands out from the crowd. The JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offers a chance to buy a new JioPhone at Rs 501 in return for any old feature phone. The phone can be of any brand.
Jio has also announced a Rs 99 voucher plan that is mandatory for first six months. The plan offers offers unlimited free voice, 0.5GB data per day and 300 SMS for 28 days. So you also have to pay Rs 594(Rs 99 X 6 months) at the time of purchase of the offer. This means you total have to pay Rs 1095 for the JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer. For cheaper JioPhone plans, you will have to pay Rs 1500 for the phone.
Those who have registered interest for the offer will receive notification alert when the offer goes live at their nearby store. To purchase the JioPhone under this offer, head to your nearby Jio store or any Reliance digital store. Do not forget to carry your Aadhaar ID and a passport size photo along with your old feature phone to the store. You should ensure that the old phone should be in working conditions and with charger. Also the phones sold in the last 3.5 years are eligible for exchange. CDMA or any locked phones will not be accepted in exchange.
The company will also offer a new Jio SIM with with the JioPhone. For those customers who want to retain their existing number can also do so by opting for Mobile Number Portability.
The JioPhone was announced by the company last year at its 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at an effectively free of cost. Basically, you have to pay nothing for the phone. An amount of Rs 1500 has to be paid at the time of purchase which would be refunded by the company after three years. Also, the phone came bundled with a data and calling plan
Under the new JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer, you have to pay Rs 501 which is also refundable. The company clarified this on Friday. So, once you have paid Rs 501 and have got the JioPhone, you can get it back after three years just like the Rs 1500 security deposit which is refundable after three years.
The phone has to be bundled with Rs 594 plan.
While the JioPhone is already supporting Google Maps now, the company has also announced support for YouTube, WhatsApp and Facebook for the phone starting August 15.
