Goal is to have ‘cordial relationship’ with centre, says CM Palaniswami

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami justified the AIADMK’s support for the no-confidence motion against the union government.

Addressing the media outside Vandalur Zoo, the CM said, “We are not concerned about what other CMs have to think about our decision regarding no-confidence motion. Did any other CM support our MPs when they stalled Parliament over the Cauvery issue?”.

He added that the AIADMK was ready to face parliamentary elections and as far as forming an alliance is concerned, that would be decided as per the political situation that prevails during the time of election.

“We want to have a cordial relationship with the central government and that is the goal. This is why people have selected MPs and they have been sent to the Parliament. They are sent there to highlight the issues of the state”, said the CM as there are many questions brewing over whether the AIADMK and the BJP are holding talks before the 2019 elections.
