First tiger death in Uttarakhand in Ramnagar

NAINITAL: In a first tiger death in Uttarakhand state, a body of a male tiger was found in Fatehpur range of Ramnagar forest division on Monday late evening.

The officials if the forest department told TOI that the body of the big cat was found hanging in the cluster of tree branches with a wood piercing through.

The post-mortem was conducted by a team of two doctors and the report is yet to arrive to ascertain the cause of death.
The officials claimed that all the body parts of the tiger were safe and the animal probably died after losing balance and falling into the cluster of trees from an adjacent hill.
Last year, total 15 tiger deaths were reported from Uttarakhand out of which seven from Corbett Tiger Reserve.
