Cristiano Ronaldo recently surprised everyone after he joined the Italian club Juventus after nine successful years at Real Madrid.
The deal was finalised after Juventus agreed to pay £99 million transfer fee to the reigning European Champions. Ronaldo will also earn £500,000-a-week wages while playing for the Serie A winners.
According to reports, the deal between Ronaldo and Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli was worked out at the Costa Navarino resort in the Pelopnnese region of Greece. It was where Ronaldo went to holiday after Portugal crashed out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Before leaving for his unveiling in Italy, Ronaldo left a tip of £17,850 (Rs 1601680.5) for the staff, according to The Sun.
The former Manchester United player, who was clearly quite impressed with the staff’s service, also asked the hotel management to share the tip equally among all the workers.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has said that he’s ready for a new chapter in his life after leaving Real Madrid. He won three consecutive Champions League title with the Spanish club.
“My story at Real was brilliant and I thank the fans. But now I want to dedicate myself to this new phase of my life. I can’t wait to play. I am very motivated and I want to show that I am a player of the highest level. I want to leave my mark on Juve’s history. I am very happy for this challenge,” Ronaldo said.
“Juventus is one of the best clubs in the world, it was a long-thought out move, but it was an easy decision to join the best club in Italy and a very important step for my career. “I’ve already met Allegri and I’ll start training on the 30th. I want to play on the first matchday of Serie A,” Ronaldo said
Ronaldo scored 451 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid and also won two La Liga titles with them.
