Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi has announced that the government-run schools in the state will soon have the Entrepreneurship Curriculum for the students.
The minister commented on this during a recent panel discussion on, ‘Living Mindfully: Initiatives and Learnings’ at New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM).
According to the minister, the initiative of the Entrepreneurship Curriculum is aimed at making Class 9 to 12 students future ready.
Here’s what the Delhi Education Minister said during the discussion:
“Entrepreneurship does not necessarily mean business, we plan to develop life skills, behavioral skills and to impart proper etiquettes into the minds of children in order to decondition them and make them future ready,” Sisodia said.
We only study to get a degree but not adapt those lessons in our daily life
According to the reports of PTI, the minister further added, “We need to teach them to dream by sharing real-life time stories so that their mind can be evolved, and by doing this, we can build a better nation.”
Educational initiatives by the Delhi Government
Also, the Delhi government has recently decided to develop a cleanliness curriculum in order to inculcate the habit of hygiene among school students.
The cleanliness curriculum will be activity based. Neither there will be any book for it nor will a separate period be allocated. The minister has asked for suggestions from teachers and principals about what activities can be included in the curriculum.
Remedial classes in government schools
Apart from this, according to Manish Sisodia, the government schools will also have the remedial classes for the board students from December 28, 2018.
These classes are for the subjects in which the students are facing problems.
