Deepika and Ranveer married in a 4-hour long Konkani Brahmin ritual

Bollywood’s favourite couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, got married in a traditional Konkani ceremony yesterday (November 14) at the picturesque Villa del Balbianello, Lake Como, Italy.

There were only around 30-40 guests at the wedding. The guests arrived in batches of 8-10 per boat and made their way to the beautifully decorated villa. The Villa was decked up in white roses, with Indian music playing in the background. The mandap was decorated with white roses as well, by twelve florists who had flown in from Florence.

According to a daily, Ranveer and Deepika married in a four-hour long Konkani Brahmin ritual. Guests present at the wedding were shifted to a villa early in the morning by boat.

 

Deepika is said to have worn a red and gold saree for the Konkani wedding.

Today, the couple will get married again, according to a Sindhi ritual. If white roses are being used for the Konkani wedding, the decoration will be replaced by red roses at Villa del Balbianello for November 15 wedding ceremony.

Ranveer and Deepika had an official ring exchange ceremony on November 13, after a Phool Muddi ceremony, which is a Konkani tradition, where the bride’s father welcomes the bridegroom.

Once they return to the country, Ranveer and Deepika will host a reception in the actress’s hometown on November 21. They have booked the ballroom of The Leela Palace Hotel in Bengaluru for the function, that will have Deepika’s extended family and close friends in attendance.

After that, the couple will throw a lavish reception party for their friends from Bollywood at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai on November 28.
