Ankita Lokhande: I want to play a heroine in Sanjay Leela Bhansali film opposite Salman Khan

Manikarnika actress Ankita Lokhande talks about which actor and director she would like to work with next. The actress also said that she does not want to stop working in television.

nkita Lokhande shot to fame with her television serial Pavitra Rishta. Soon after the show ended, the actress bagged a role in Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Ankita plays the role of Jhalkaribai in the war drama, and Kangana plays Rani Laxmibai.

In recent interview, Ankita was asked which actor she would like to work with. She answered, “For me, content is the hero and I am okay being paired with anyone. But yes I would love to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali as I admire his knowledge and his sense for cinema. And yes, at least once, I wish to play Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s heroine opposite Salman Khan.”

Asked if she would like to focus on films now, Ankita answered that she has given six years of her life to TV, and that people know her more as Archana from Pavitra Rishta than Ankita. She doesn’t want to stop working in television shows.

With regard to her personal life, Ankita is dating Vicky Jain, who is a businessman from Bilaspur. Speculation was rife that the two would tie the knot soon. Talking about her marriage plans, she told a daily, “Love is really important for me because I believe in it. I believe in giving love to everyone, including my family, dogs and myself, and not just the person I get married to. Relationships are very important because that’s the bond you share with someone and that’s how love grows between people. Marriage has always been my dream. I have always wanted to get married. But at this point, my priorities have changed. I am really looking forward to more films.”

Ankita also added, “He is a very nice guy. He is a businessman from Bilaspur. Yes, I am in love and you will get to know about it [marriage] when the time is right,” added Ankita.

Ankita’s Bollywood debut Manikarnika is set to hit the screens on January 25.
